Industrialization Engineer – Thales Location: Gorgonzola, Italy

Thales creates solutions that provide operational advantage at every decisive moment. Defence and armed forces customers rely on our land, sea, and air systems, ranging from early warning to advanced airspace and vehicle solutions.

Gorgonzola hosts the Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain, which focuses on avionics, navigation, and radar systems for civil air traffic and supports civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers, and technicians worldwide. Italy is the Group’s Competence Center for designing, producing, and delivering Navigation Aids and non‑Radar Surveillance products.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Industrialization Engineer to drive the industrialization of new products and processes. You will collaborate with engineering, procurement, and suppliers to ensure manufacturability, streamline industrial flows, and champion efficiency and standardization across our production operations.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with design teams to ensure product manufacturability (DFM) and incorporate industrial feedback (REX) while promoting process standardization.

Support the definition and deployment of the overall Industrial Strategy aligned with corporate objectives.

Develop and execute Industrialization Plans, including Make or Buy evaluations.

Assist in preparing quotations and initial Cost Breakdown calculations for new projects.

Lead New Product Introductions (NPI) ensuring seamless industrialization from prototype to full production.

Define, optimize, and improve industrial production flows for efficiency and quality.

Prepare detailed Scope of Work for subcontracted industrial activities.

Define Industrial Requirements for new products in close collaboration with engineering teams.

Participate in critical process validation activities such as Production Readiness Reviews and First Article Inspections.

Lead and manage product and process changes at suppliers, ensuring smooth implementation and compliance.

Actively participate in Change Control Boards to evaluate change impacts and coordinate supplier communications.

Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to resolve production issues and drive continuous process improvements.

Represent the industrial function internally and externally to support industrial changes and initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related technical field is preferred; a high school diploma with significant relevant experience will also be considered.

Proven experience in industrialization, manufacturing engineering, or product/process development in a high‑technology environment.

Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, DFM principles, and industrial flow optimization.

Experience managing supplier relationships and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and negotiation.

Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.

Proficiency in relevant software tools for process simulation, CAD, or project management is desirable.
