This role is for a Controls Manager on the Data Center Capacity Delivery team, responsible for building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS) deployment and service within Amazon data centers. Key Job Responsibilities

Implement and track team goals, reporting the status of ongoing projects upwards. Lead interview processes, develop launch plans for new hires, and identify team needs. Install, program, and troubleshoot BMS/EPMS systems and industrial controls systems. Provide strong written communication and articulate thoughts clearly and concisely. Read and interpret electrical and control diagrams, building operations, control circuits, and industrial HVAC. Ascertain customer needs to develop project scope and specifications. Manage project engineering to determine scope of work relative to design intent and customer needs. Create drawings for control panels, power distribution, and junction boxes, including general arrangement, internal layout, schematics, and wire diagrams. Develop logic diagrams in the International Automation format for PLC and DCS devices. Inspect, test, and commission facility systems. Provide technical assistance to internal customers. Coordinate project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure on‑time completion within budget. Travel up to 50% to construction job sites across the United States.

3+ years of people management and team development experience. 3+ years of experience leading teams with hiring and talent development. 4+ years of vendor management experience. 3+ years of electrical or mechanical engineering experience. 4+ years of experience in Controls Management.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics, or equivalent, or MS degree. 6+ years of mentoring, leading, and coaching experience. 8+ years of vendor management experience. Experience in design or construction of data centers, critical infrastructure, or large‑scale mechanical and electrical plants. Professional Engineer License. 3 years of experience in data center system‑level architecture and electrical engineering principles. 3 years of experience in data center system‑level architecture and mechanical engineering principles. Prior AWS/Amazon experience. 5+ years of military service.

Compensation The base pay for this position ranges from $119,400/year in our lowest geographic market to $227,800/year in our highest geographic market.
