Morellato Group is looking for:
Head of Business Intelligence and Data Governance
The role leads a new independent function reporting to the Director of Operations, covering business intelligence across the Group.
The candidate will be responsible for delivering a business intelligence deployment plan to enable the Group to track and manage information efficiently and effectively, resulting in deeper insights that contribute to operational, tactical, and strategic decision-making, while driving innovation through a continuous improvement approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and lead a new, independent Business Intelligence function reporting to the Director of Operations, covering Group-wide analytics and data governance
Define the Group BI strategy and roadmap in partnership with senior leadership, leading a distributed team across three EU countries
Deliver the BI deployment plan to enable effective tracking, analysis, and decision-making at operational, tactical, and strategic levels
Translate strategic and operational business needs into data requirements, KPIs, dashboards, and performance reports
Promote a culture of data-driven decision-making by fostering strong collaboration between BI teams and business stakeholders
Define and share BI and data governance best practices across the Group, including mentoring and training of senior leaders
Partner with IT to ensure BI platforms are secure, scalable, and fit for purpose, while safeguarding data quality and consistency through robust ETL processes
Oversee data quality management, troubleshooting issues at root-cause level to ensure reliable and reusable data assets
Key technologies and development environments:
Microsoft (Power BI, Azure, Fabric, SQL Server)
Jira Project Management
Big data platforms: Hadoop, Map Reduce (knowledge is a plus)
SAP BO, BW (knowledge is a plus)
The ideal candidate will have:
Proven experience leading a team of analysts
Proven experience in managing suppliers
Experience with data visualization tools, particularly Power BI
Familiarity with machine learning and predictive modeling techniques
Ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems
10+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related field
Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills
Proficiency in English and Italian; knowledge of French is a plus, with occasional travel across Europe
Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
