Milan, Italy Who are we recruiting for? Our client is a globally recognized IPP specializing in renewable energy, with a growing focus on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) alongside solar PV projects. Following recent investments, the company has a robust pipeline of BESS projects in Spain and is looking to strengthen its development team. What will you be doing? Lead the development of utility-scale BESS projects from site identification, permitting, and design through to financial close. Coordinate technical, commercial, and regulatory aspects of BESS projects, ensuring alignment with company strategy and investor expectations. Manage relationships with landowners, local authorities, grid operators, and other external stakeholders to secure necessary permits, grid connections, and approvals. Prepare project financial models, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to support investment decisions. Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, legal, commercial, and project management) to ensure smooth handover from development to construction. Track market trends, policy changes, and technology developments in BESS to inform strategic planning. Support portfolio-level decision-making and reporting for the Italian BESS pipeline. Are you the ideal candidate? Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, or a related technical discipline. 5–10+ years of experience in project development within renewables, preferably with BESS, storage, or hybrid projects. Strong knowledge of Italian permitting, grid connection, and regulatory frameworks for energy projects. Experience managing project feasibility, financial modeling, and risk assessment for utility-scale projects. Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with experience engaging with authorities, partners, and investors. Highly organized, proactive, and results-driven, able to work independently in a fast-growing environment. Fluent in English and Italian. What’s in it for you?
