MHE Reliability Engineer, CRME Global Reliability team

As a Material Handling Equipment (MHE) MHE Reliability Engineer, you will be the primary point of contact for internal customers and vendors. provides structured maintenance strategies for material handling equipment (MHE) to improve the machines’ performance, useful life of equipment, and reduce the overall cost of maintenance. The team uses data to build and support these strategies from various tools including CMMS systems and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). The ability to build productive relationships with colleagues and customers at remote sites around the world will make you successful in this role. You will frequently travel to various facilities in North America and Europe.
Key job responsibilities
In an MHE Reliability Engineer role, the individual is leading reliability initiatives to maximize the equipment overall effectiveness, capture best practices, network/business units roll outs, and building feedback into the design process with WWDE to assure the highest safety and sustainability possible. The person in this role has to display Ownership, as they will develop and own programs, projects, and systems that will improve efficiency, reduce downtime of critical assets, and reduce overall maintenance costs that are scalable to all business units. They will effectively own a project from concept to network roll out, using advanced project management tools (defect mapping, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Gantt Charts etc.). Advance knowledge and experience with white papers, Operational Planning (OP) documents, strategy documents (SPS), ECON Analysis, and acquisition of network CARs with minimal leadership guidance.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in RME support roles, systems engineer, or systems development.
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance with equivalent experience in the mechanical or electrical fields.
- 2+ years technical troubleshooting, triaging, and prioritization of operational risks based on failure modes of automated equipment.
- Ability to travel to various sites as needed, globally.
- Technical understanding of: MHE system components/controls, HMI components, control network components, mechanical and standard electrical components.
- Experience in some or all of the following areas: Automated conveyor systems or controls, electrical and electronic principles, blueprint and electrical schematic reading, CMMS programs, preventive maintenance procedures, industrial electrical, industrial controls, industrial electronics, industrial PC literary, N.E.C.
- Work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical STEM or Engineering discipline (Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Computer Science, Software / Systems Development), degree in Mathematics / Statistics, or comparable scientific or technical degree from an accredited university.
- 2+ years’ experience in the field with Amazon MHE equipment.
- Technical understanding of: MHE system components/controls, HMI components, control network components, mechanical and standard electrical components.
- Experience with: Databases & data pipelines, development and integration of disparate data platforms / systems.
- Understanding of: 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems.
- Ability to interpret, modify, and develop drawings both mechanical and electrical.
- Ability to identify, maintain, and utilize SCADA systems and KPI's.
- Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills for technical and business audiences.
- Understand and critically evaluate technical systems end-to-end for strengths, weaknesses, impacts and improvements.
- Robust troubleshooting and data analytical skills.
- Strong collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to influence others in a technical role and interact with all levels of management.
