Position Title: Fast Moving Workover Rig (FMWR) Construction Superintendent Reporting to: Construction Manager

Position Summary
The FMWR Construction Superintendent is responsible for overseeing the fabrication, assembly, modification, and commissioning of fast moving workover rigs. The role ensures that rigs are constructed or refurbished in line with project schedules, technical specifications, safety standards, and operational requirements for well servicing and intervention activities.
General Description of Role and Responsibilities
Project and Construction Oversight
Supervise all stages of FMWR construction or refurbishment, including structural, mechanical, and electrical works
Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, technical specifications, and quality standards
Coordinate day to day activities of subcontractors, rig builders, welders, electricians, and service providers at site
Quality and Technical Compliance
Ensure construction complies with applicable industry standards such as API 4 F, 7 K, and 8 C, as well as project QA and QC requirements
Participate in inspections, factory acceptance tests, and pre commissioning activities
Verify correct installation, alignment, and testing of rig equipment including mast, substructure, drawworks, BOP systems, and power packages
Construction Scheduling and Reporting
Monitor progress, productivity, and manpower allocation against construction milestones
Prepare and issue daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports
Interface with engineering, procurement, logistics, and quality teams to resolve constraints and prevent delays
HSE Management
Enforce site HSE procedures and construction safety plans
Lead safety walk downs, toolbox talks, and contribute to incident investigations
Ensure lifting, welding, electrical, and commissioning activities are executed safely and under appropriate permit systems
Rig Move and Commissioning Support
Support rig move and mobilisation activities from the yard to the field
Coordinate rig up and commissioning activities at site to ensure full operational readiness
Handover completed rigs to drilling or workover operations following inspection and readiness certification
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
Minimum of eight years’ relevant post graduate experience within the discipline
Strong written and spoken English, with proven report writing capability
Solid understanding of fast moving workover rig design, construction, and field deployment
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and rig layout schematics
Proven leadership and coordination skills across multi disciplinary teams
Working knowledge of construction standards, inspection processes, and project controls
Strong focus on safety, quality, and on time delivery
