The Applications and Data Lead will act as the principal MIS Lead for the three schools, fully owning and managing the iSAMS Management Information System and ensuring its effective, consistent and high quality use across academic, pastoral, and administrative functions.
As the school group’s local Education IT Business Partner, the postholder will champion the wider ecosystem of educational applications, including the Virtual Learning Environment, Library Management Systems, classroom technologies, safeguarding tools, analytics platforms, and other teaching and learning systems. The focus of the role is to enhance educational processes, staff experience, and student outcomes through the effective use, optimisation, and integration of educational technology, with iSAMS as the core foundation.
The role will provide leadership in data quality, governance, reporting, and compliance, ensuring that the schools can rely on accurate, secure, and meaningful information for academic tracking, pastoral care, safeguarding, planning, and overall decision making. Acting as the bridge between academic teams, school leadership, IT support, and application vendors, the postholder will drive user adoption, lead improvement projects, and embed best practice in MIS and educational technology use.
Principal Accountabilities
Own and manage iSAMS as the single source of truth for student, staff and operational data across the three schools.
Provide leadership and structured oversight for all educational technology platforms.
Act as the Education IT Business Partner, supporting pedagogy, pastoral care, and student experience through effective technology adoption.
Develop and maintain reporting frameworks that provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights.
Ensure compliance with GDPR, safeguarding and internal policies in all data and system practices.
Lead change management, training, and ongoing user support for iSAMS and educational applications.
Report regularly on MIS usage, data quality, EdTech adoption, and improvement initiatives.
Required Skills/Abilities
Proven experience administering and supporting iSAMS or similar school MIS.
Knowledge of educational technologies (VLEs, classroom technologies, library systems).
Fluent/conversational in English.
Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
Experience with business applications such as Business Central, Salesforce CRM, SuccessFactors or equivalent ERP/CRM/HR systems.
Strong understanding of GDPR, data governance, and data protection practices.
Experience developing dashboards and reports (Power BI desirable).
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
Excellent communication skills, able to work effectively with non‑technical staff and external vendors.
