Junior Mechanical Engineer – R&D Rome (IT)

COSMED is seeking a recent graduate Junior Mechanical Engineer to join its Research & Development team.

The selected candidate will become part of the Technical Department and will be responsible for mechanical design, definition of technical specifications, prototyping, functional verification, and documentation of COSMED hardware components and devices, in compliance with company procedures and applicable regulatory standards.

The role requires close collaboration with internal departments (Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Production, Marketing, and Sales), as well as with external suppliers and technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

- Mechanical design and development of hardware components and systems

- Prototyping and functional verification

- Preparation of technical documentation and component coding within the company system

- Improvement and maintenance of existing designs

- Support for testing and validation activities

Requirements

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical disciplines

- Knowledge of 3D solid modeling (preferably SolidWorks)

- Knowledge of technical drawing

- Understanding of major industrial manufacturing technologies (machining, sheet metal processing, injection molding)

- Basic knowledge of measurement instruments and technical inspection tools

- Good command of the English language

Preferred Qualifications

- Familiarity with prototyping processes using 3D printing
