Personal Assistant / Legal Secretary

to join our

A&O Shearman Milan office

, supporting our

Corporate M&A practice group.

This position is offered as an initial

6‑month fixed‑term contract

and is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, international legal environment. This is a fantastic chance to work closely with Partners and fee‑earners, contribute to high‑profile transactional work, and become a trusted member of a high‑performing team. What you will do

Provide comprehensive diary, contact and correspondence management for lawyers within the Corporate practice. Manage both physical and digital filing systems and ensure accurate document organisation. Handle incoming phone calls and coordinate calls, meetings and appointments (in‑person and virtual). Organise complex travel arrangements and business trips across multiple jurisdictions. Prepare and process expense claims and assist with timesheet management. Format, edit and mark up legal documents, contracts and presentations. Conduct company registry searches and support the preparation of corporate documentation. Assist with administrative tasks related to billing, marketing and knowledge management.

What you will have Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail. A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams. A proactive, enthusiastic and adaptable approach. Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment. Good level of written and spoken Italian and English Strong Microsoft Office skills.
