Optical Design Engineer

We’re looking for a Optical Engineer to help us push the boundaries of display performance and expand into new medical and industrial applications.
Key Responsibility
Translate clinical and industry needs into optical system requirements
Identify and evaluate advanced optical technologies and components
Design and execute experiments to assess display performance
Develop calibration methods and real‑time optimization systems
Lead optical validation to meet regulatory and industry standards
Lead the development of new 3D and visualization systems
Collaborate closely with suppliers to implement innovative solutions
Evaluate, introduce, and test new display panels and protective technologies to ensure optimal performance and durability in surgical environments
Skills
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled professional to contribute to the development of advanced optical systems for surgical displays. The ideal candidate combines a solid engineering background with a proactive and structured approach, and is capable of driving innovation through cross‑functional collaboration and supplier engagement. This role requires fluency in English and availability for international travel.
MSc in Optical Engineering, Photonics, or equivalent professional experience
Experience in optical system design, ideally within imaging or display technologies
Solid knowledge of automation and programming
Hands‑on, analytical, and structured approach to problem‑solving
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines and with suppliers
Passionate about innovation, with a high sense of ownership and initiative
Fluent in Italian and English and willing to travel
