Firewall Tester

Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Firewall Tester with strong hands-on experience in network security testing and firewall validation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for testing, validating, and ensuring the effectiveness of firewall configurations, security policies, and overall network security controls within enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities Perform functional, performance, and security testing of firewall systems. Validate firewall rules, NAT policies, VPN configurations, and access control lists (ACLs). Conduct security assessments and vulnerability testing related to firewall deployments. Identify configuration gaps, security risks, and policy violations. Coordinate with network and security teams for remediation and optimization. Prepare detailed test cases, test plans, and test reports. Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and regulatory standards. Support firewall upgrades, migrations, and patch validation testing.

Required Skills & Technical Expertise Strong hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Check Point, or similar platforms. Experience in firewall rule review, change validation, and policy optimization. Good understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and network security concepts. Experience in vulnerability assessment and security testing tools. Familiarity with SIEM tools and log analysis. Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).

Educational Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Relevant certifications such as CEH, CCNA Security, PCNSE, NSE, or equivalent are preferred.

Soft Skills Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Excellent documentation and reporting capabilities. Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Good communication skills.
