Role Description We are seeking a

Senior ETL / Data Engineer

with strong expertise in

Python-based data pipelines ,

SQL , and

cloud platforms . The role focuses on building and optimizing scalable ETL pipelines, ingesting structured and unstructured data from diverse sources, and designing robust backend data systems. The ideal candidate is

Python-first , deeply experienced with databases, and comfortable working across

GCP (preferred)

or

AWS , with a strong backend and data modeling mindset.

Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain

ETL and data ingestion pipelines

using Python Develop pipelines for

non-traditional data acquisition , including web scraping, API ingestion, and event-based data sources Build and optimize

data processing workflows

for structured and semi-structured data Design efficient

data models and schemas

to support analytics and backend services Write and optimize

complex SQL queries

for large datasets Work with both

relational and NoSQL databases , including MongoDB Integrate with

cloud-native databases

and storage platforms Develop backend APIs and services supporting data access and search Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across pipelines Collaborate with internal teams to understand data requirements and internal system dependencies Troubleshoot pipeline failures and optimize throughput and latency Document data flows, pipelines, and system designs Required Skills and Experience 5+ years of hands-on experience in

ETL / data engineering Strong proficiency in

Python Strong experience with

SQL

and relational databases Deep experience building

data pipelines and ingestion frameworks Experience with

web scraping, API ingestion, and non-traditional data sources Strong backend mindset with experience in

APIs, search, and data modeling Experience with

MongoDB

or similar NoSQL databases Experience working with

cloud platforms , preferably

GCP , AWS acceptable Familiarity with cloud databases such as: DynamoDB, Redshift (AWS) Spanner, Bigtable (GCP) Nice to Have Experience working with both

Python and Java Familiarity with distributed data processing frameworks Experience with cloud-native ETL orchestration tools Exposure to internal enterprise systems and complex data landscapes Ideal Candidate Profile ETL specialist with heavy database project experience Python-first engineer with strong SQL depth Backend-oriented with solid system design skills Comfortable working independently in a freelance engagement Fast ramp-up ability in complex internal systems
