Head of School (HOS) - TIPS Globeducate India, Chennai Ambattur

The Head of School (HOS) serves as the academic and administrative leader of the institution and is responsible for the overall strategic direction, operational effectiveness and continued growth of the school. The HOS will provide visionary leadership to strengthen academic excellence, ensure compliance with international standards, foster a positive school culture and enhance the school’s reputation locally and globally.
Key Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Lead the development and execution of the school’s vision, mission and long-term strategic plan.
Ensure effective implementation of IB (Early Years & Primary) and Cambridge (Lower Secondary, IGCSE, AS/A Levels) programmes with a focus on academic rigor, holistic learning and international standards.
Set clear academic goals and drive improvement in internal assessments and external examinations. Regularly review curriculum implementation, teaching strategies and assessment practices to maintain alignment with global standards.
Recruit, mentor and retain high-quality academic and non-academic staff aligned with the school’s mission and values.
Guide and support Academic Coordinators and faculty to foster collaborative planning, innovation and professional growth.
Implement structured performance appraisal systems and professional development initiatives.
Cultivate a positive, inclusive and high-performance work culture focused on well-being and teamwork.
Ensure a safe, inclusive and supportive environment promoting students’ academic, social, emotional and physical well-being.
Oversee discipline policies and promote positive behaviour management practices.
Encourage participation in co-curricular, extracurricular and community service initiatives to support holistic development.
Planning and execution of school events, exhibitions, cultural programmes, sports meets and celebrations.
Collaborate with the Admissions team to ensure seamless processes, positive parent engagement and achievement of enrolment targets.
Act as the primary liaison for parents, maintaining transparent and responsive communication.
Promote active parent involvement and foster a strong sense of school community.
Strengthen the school’s brand presence and reputation through effective outreach, marketing and participation in academic and cultural forums.
Prepare and present reports, data analyses and strategic updates to the School Board.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and international accreditation standards.
Stay informed of global educational trends and best practices to maintain alignment with international benchmarks.

Qualifications & Experience
Master’s Degree in Education (or) a relevant discipline, along with a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) from a recognised institution.
Professional training, certification (or) authorisation experience related to IB and/or CAIE programmes will be an added advantage.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive teaching experience, including at least 5 years in academic and/or administrative leadership roles.
Demonstrated experience in implementing and managing IB and/or Cambridge programmes across multiple grade levels.
Strong understanding of international curriculum frameworks, inquiry-based pedagogy, assessment methodologies and quality assurance processes.
Proven track record of improving academic outcomes and leading school development initiatives.
