SDET Automation Lead

Job Summary :

We are looking for a highly hands-on Automation SDET Lead with 6 - 12 years of QA experience to drive and scale test automation across UI, API, and integration layers. This role requires strong expertise in Python and framework development, along with deep involvement in coding and technical decision-making. As a player-coach, you will mentor SDETs, enforce quality standards, and collaborate closely with engineering, product, and DevOps teams. This is a technical leadership role, not a pure managerial position.

Core Responsibilities :

Act as a hands-on technical lead, contributing to code on a regular basis. -

Design, develop and maintain automation frameworks from scratch when required. -

Lead as a player-coach: mentor, unblock, and contribute technically. -

Own and drive test automation strategy across UI, API, and integration layers. -

Work closely with development, product, and DevOps teams to plan releases, define test scope, and enforce quality gates. -

Mentor and guide SDETs through code reviews, framework design and best practices. -

Balance technical leadership and stakeholder coordination - this is not a people-only management role.

Must-Have :

-

6-12 years of experience in QA / SDET roles. -

4+ years of experience as an Automation SDET Lead with strong hands-on responsibilities (not a pure managerial role) -

Strong hands-on experience with Python and test frameworks -

Extensive experience with Pytest, Selenium, REST API automation or any other framework development. -

Solid understanding of test architecture, scalability, and maintainability. -

Strong experience with Linux commands and debugging in CI/CD environments. -

Experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines. -

Good understanding of Docker and Kubernetes. -

Experience enforcing quality standards and automation best practices across teams. -

Familiarity with Agile / Scrum development processes.
