YOU'LL BE A MEMBER OF : Creative, Marketing
ABOUT THE ROLE
We’re looking for a Mid-Level Space & Visual Experience designer with 4 to 5+ years of industry experience to join the creative team at Ather Energy. This role is for someone who thinks spatially first, someone who can shape narratives, journeys, and experiences within physical environments and turn ideas into immersive, real-world spaces.
You will work at the intersection of space design, storytelling and visual communication - creating exhibitions, installations, experience zones and supporting visual layers like spatial graphics, information cues, and micro- storytelling systems. You will be part of a hands-on team that defines how Ather shows up in the physical world, across touchpoints that evolve quickly and also involve not just customers but multiple stakeholders. Being intentional, detail-driven, adaptable and clear in communication will go a long way as you maintain design integrity and consistency across many projects.
WHAT WILL I BE DOING AT ATHER?
Functional responsibilities:
Create spatial concepts, exhibition layouts, immersive zones, and narrative led experience flows that guide a visitor from point A to point B with clarity, intention, and emotion.
Translate storylines, engineering inputs, brand narratives, and design intent into well-formed spatial ideas with strong composition, proportion, lighting, and material sensibility.
Develop and refine spatial designs through concept development, visualisation, sketches, and detailing, ensuring each iteration sharpens the narrative and improves usability.
Support visual communication across the space where needed, wayfinding, spatial graphics, information layers, and storytelling elements (approx. 25% of the role).
Collaborate with marketing, engineering, and content teams to shape cohesive narratives across space, content, and user journey.
Work closely with architects, fabricators, production teams, and external partners to translate concepts into well-executed, high-craft physical outcomes.
Create presentations that communicate ideas clearly from early conceptual storytelling to detailed stakeholder-ready decks.
Operational responsibilities:
Adapt concepts to diverse site conditions and constraints without losing narrative intention, spatial hierarchy, or the core design experience.
Manage inputs from content, engineering, fabrication, marketing, and architecture teams while protecting the spatial story and design integrity.
Maintain craft and quality during execution by guiding teams whose interpretation of detail or finish or quality may vary.
Track decisions, revisions, dependencies, and site progress across multiple locations to ensure continuity and clarity.
Conduct site visits for early assessments, resolving practical challenges, and ensuring the final build matches drawings, intent, and narrative flow.
WHAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE & SKILLS DO I NEED FOR THIS ROLE?
Experience:
4 to 5+ years of experience in spatial design, exhibition design, interior environments, installations, or immersive brand experiences.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of spatial composition, human behaviour flows, narrative structures, and the craft of guiding people through a space.
Ability to translate design intent into architectural drawings, 3D models, documentation and presentations suited for review and execution.
Proficiency with SketchUp / Rhino / AutoCAD and comfort with visual tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign (Figma or rendering tools are bonus).
Familiarity with fabrication techniques, materials, production constraints, and how design decisions affect feasibility and buildability.
Experience working with architects, fabricators, and production agencies on real-world builds.
SOME ATTRIBUTES THAT I BRING TO THIS ROLE?
You think independently, take initiative, and can shape a narrative through space, not just decorate it.
You communicate clearly, collaborate smoothly, and stay composed when things get fast-paced or ambiguous.
You care deeply about craft, detail, materials, timelines, and delivering a space that feels intentional and refined.
You enjoy working across formats, spatial design first, with the ability to support visual communication where it strengthens the journey.
You learn fast, refine through feedback, and respect the relationship between design intent and on-ground execution.
Bonus:
Skills in 3D rendering, photography or videograpaphy.
Interest in technology, sustainability, and the evolving landscape of mobility.
Awareness of current trends in architecture, brand experience, and installation design.
WHAT SHOULD I HAVE GRADUATED IN?
No fast rule on academic requirements. We’re looking primarily for a notable quality of work in this domain and the experience mentioned.
Bachelor of Design, Master of Design, Architecture / Space Design or any equivalent degree in art or design works as a bonus.
