Lead - Hardware Design
A Hardware Design Lead is crucial in the organisation, contributing to the design and innovation of new products. They bring technical expertise to the development of hardware, ensuring that electronic components and systems are efficient, reliable, and meet the required performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and Development:
o Create detailed designs for electronic circuits and systems, such as PCBs, analog and digital circuitry and power management solutions.
o Work on component selection, circuit simulations, schematic design, and PCB layout, ensuring that the design meets performance, size, and cost requirements.
o Designing power electronics for various application like, TFT, LCD Display interfaces, EV infrastructure, Motor controllers, battery management systems (BMS), onboard chargers, IGBT’s.
o Thermal Management: Designing systems with efficient heat dissipation methods, considering product application which often involve high temperatures.
2. Prototyping and Testing:
o Build and test prototypes to validate design concepts and ensure that they meet required specifications.
3. Collaboration with Other Teams:
o Work closely with software engineers, firmware developers, mechanical engineers, product managers and suppliers to ensure that hardware design aligns with the overall product development.
o Provide technical input on hardware-related aspects during project planning and design reviews.
4. Compliance and Standards:
o Ensure that hardware designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational guidelines, such as EMI/EMC standards, safety regulations, and environmental considerations.
5. Documentation and Support:
o Provide support to manufacturing teams, assisting with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA).
o Prepare technical documentation, SOW, including design specifications, test reports and user manuals.
Skills
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or Electronics Engineering degree.
· Strong hands-on experience in Electronics Hardware Schematic/ PCB Layout design / Testing and Validation.
· Knowledge on Circuit design, Component selection, Schematic capture, Circuit simulation, Thermal Analysis, Power loss Analysis.
· Working experience in validation testing of AC-DC, DC-DC converters, SMPS, Battery Management System
· Development of Interface Control Documents (ICD) and developing Electrical interfaces like RS232/422/485, I2C, SPI, Ethernet and USB
· The candidate to have strong negotiation skills, Communication skills, Positive approach.
· Knowledge of various manufacturing process and commodities like packaging, product costing, cost evaluation.
· Hands on experience anyone tools like Cadence 17.2, Allegro, Altium, CRO/Logic is must.
· Preferrable: Experience in consumer electronics industry
