>>About the Digital Government Advisory Team
KPMG India's Digital Government Advisory (DGA) practice helps government bodies modernize public services through technology. It offers strategic consulting, digital architecture, and sector-specific solutions across areas like transport, water, justice, and finance. The team enables large-scale e-Governance, data analytics, and automation to improve efficiency and citizen experience.
>>About the Role:
The role involves supporting Government and Public Sector programs with a strong focus on Public Finance Management (PFM). The position requires working closely with State/Central Government departments, providing advisory, analytical, and operational support to improve financial systems, budgeting processes, expenditure management, and fiscal transparency.
>>Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and support engagements related to Public Finance Management, including budgeting, treasury operations, expenditure tracking, revenue management, and financial governance.
- Work with Ministries, Departments, and Public Sector entities to implement reforms and strengthen financial processes.
- Provide analytical support, including financial modeling, expenditure analysis, and policy interpretation.
- Coordinate with government stakeholders to gather data, prepare reports, documentation, and presentations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable public finance guidelines, standards, and statutory requirements.
- Support digital transformation initiatives in Finance Departments and public financial systems.
- Prepare strategic insights, dashboards, and progress reports for government leadership.
- Manage project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communication.
- Provide capacity-building support through workshops, training, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
>>Education:
MBA/PGDM (Two-year full-time) with B.Tech/B.E. OR Chartered Accountant (CA)/ MCA)
>>Experience
- Minimum 7 years of total professional experience.
- Must include:
- More than 4 years of experience in the Government or Public Sector.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Public Finance Management for State or Central Government.
>>Preferred Skills:
- Strong understanding of PFM frameworks, budgeting cycles, treasury systems, and government accounting.
- Familiarity with government financial software, e‐governance systems, or PFMS modules.
- Experience in public sector consulting, advisory, audits, or financial transformation projects.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with analytics tools is a plus.
- Ability to work in dynamic, cross-functional environments with government stakeholders.
