Freelance Infrastructure / Virtualization Engineer (Citrix & VMware Specialist)

Role Description We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure and Virtualization Engineer with strong expertise in Citrix, VMware environments, data-centric architectures, networking, and load balancing technologies. The consultant will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise infrastructure environments ensuring high availability, performance optimization, and secure access to business-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities Design, deploy, and support Citrix virtual desktop and application delivery environments Manage VMware virtualization infrastructure including ESXi, vCenter, and virtual machine lifecycle Implement and maintain data-centric architectures supporting enterprise workloads Configure and manage load balancers for high availability and traffic optimization Support enterprise networking including routing, switching, firewalls, and connectivity troubleshooting Monitor system performance and optimize infrastructure reliability and scalability Perform infrastructure upgrades, patching, and capacity planning Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, virtualization, and networking issues Collaborate with security, cloud, and application teams for integrated solutions Required Skills Strong experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops Hands-on experience with VMware (ESXi, vCenter, virtualization management) Solid understanding of data center architecture and infrastructure design Experience with load balancing technologies (F5, Citrix ADC/NetScaler, or similar) Strong networking knowledge including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, routing, and switching Experience supporting enterprise production environments Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills Nice to Have Cloud integration exposure (Azure or AWS) Automation or scripting experience (PowerShell preferred) Experience with hybrid infrastructure environments
