Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer with expertise in Electric Vehicle (EV) powertrains, Motors, Transmission or Gearboxes to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of EV powertrain systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration of mechanical components into the overall vehicle architecture. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of sustainable transportation technology and shape the future of electric mobility.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems for EV powertrains, including motors, transmissions, drivelines, and thermal management systems.
Conduct detailed analysis and simulation to optimize the performance, efficiency, and durability of powertrain components.
Collaborate with electrical engineers, software engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate mechanical systems with electrical and control systems.
Participate in design reviews, DFMEA, and DVP&R activities to ensure robustness and reliability of powertrain systems.
Evaluate and select materials, manufacturing processes, and suppliers for powertrain components.
Support prototype builds and testing, including validation testing and vehicle integration.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulations related to electric vehicle powertrains.
Thermal and CFD Lead for Motors and Drives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a focus on electric vehicle powertrains.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Spaceclaim) for 3D modeling and design.
- Strong understanding of EV powertrain components and systems, including motors, inverters, and battery packs.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools for simulation and optimization.
- Knowledge of automotive engineering standards, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with project management and leading small teams is a plus.
- Experience with Ingress protection, Submersible Pump Designs and Marine Projects is a plus.
