About the role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Document Control Engineer to support our semiconductor fabrication facility’s Quality Management System (QMS). The ideal candidate will manage controlled documents in compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA guidelines, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and timely updates across a dynamic engineering and manufacturing environment.
The position supports process compliance, audit readiness, and document integrity across all engineering, production, and quality functions.
Responsibilities:
Document Control & Management
Monitor, review and control all documents, SOPs, work instructions, engineering change records, and templates.
Ensure document lifecycle management (creation, review, approval, release, revision control, and archival) in alignment with ISO 9001:2015 clause 7.5, IATF 16949 documentation requirements
Manage controlled documents within enterprise DMS platforms (e.g., SharePoint, PLM, MES, EDMS, QMS platforms).
Ensure detail oriented and on time review of all users submitted documents in the DMS application in accordance with document policy compliance.
Maintain accurate document metadata, revision history, controlled numbering, and approval records in enterprise document management systems.
Collaborate with document owners to implement revisions in accordance with change control procedures.
2. Compliance & Quality Assurance
Support internal, customer, and third-party audits by ensuring document compliance and readiness.
Ensure controlled distribution of documents, avoiding the use of obsolete versions on the shop floor.
3. System Coordination and Training
Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure documents are aligned with process requirements and industry standards.
Provide training and guidance to document owners and users on document formatting, templates, and document control standards.
Support system upgrades, migrations, and workflow improvements related to document control tools (EDMS, PLM, SharePoint, QMS platforms, etc.).
4. Record Management and Data Integrity
Maintain proper archival and retention of controlled documents in compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Safeguard document integrity, ensuring traceability, security, and authorized access control.
Conduct periodic reviews of controlled documents to ensure relevance, validity, and compliance.
Qualification:
Diploma/ bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality, or related field.
1–2 years of experience in document control within semiconductor, electronics, automotive, or other regulated industries.
Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA standards.
Experience with enterprise document control systems (e.g., PLM, EDMS, QMS).
Strong understanding of engineering documentation, process flows, and revision control.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and communication abilities.
Ability to coordinate with cross functional teams in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Experience in semiconductor fabrication or advanced manufacturing sectors.
Exposure to customer-specific requirements and audit frameworks aligned with IATF and VDA standards.
Proficiency in documentation standardization, workflow automation, and process mapping.
