Solar Project Manager

Job Location: Project Site / HO Ahmedabad

Reporting to: Director or Project Operations

Key Qualifications Education:

- Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B. Tech) in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, or a related field or - Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with Additional certification in project management (e.g.PMP, Prince2) or renewable energy (e.g., NABCEP for solar PV)

Preferred Qualifications:

- Advance Degree or MBA in a relevant field - Experience in emerging solar technologies (e.g., bifacial modules, floating solar) - Knowledge of sustainability reporting (e.., ESG framework) and green financing - Proficiency in data analysis for project optimization

Experience :

- 7 – 10 years of hands- on experience in solar project execution, site management, and operation within renewable energy sector - Proven track record of managing end – to -end solar PV projects, including ground mounted and rooftop installation, from inception to commission - Experience in handling projects of varying scales (e.g., utility – scale farms or commercial installations) with budget exceeding - Familiarity with EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) contracts and vendor management.

Job Description:

- In- Depth Knowledge of solar PV systems, including design principles, component selection (modules, inverters, mounting structures), installation technique and commissioning processes.

- Expertise in applicable industry standards such as IEC 61215 for modules, IEEE 1547 for gird interconnection and NEC (National Electrical Code) for electrical installations.

- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project Primavera) and solar specific software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope) for performance modelling and simulation.

- Strong understanding of electrical systems, including AC/DC configuration, grounding and protection schemes in solar application,

Soft Skills:

- Proven Leadership Ability: Demonstrated success in building and motivating high- performing teams. - Strong Project Management & Planning Skills: Expertise in developing detailed project plans, risk assessment, and contingency strategies to ensure seamless execution - Decision Making Capability: Ability to anticipate issues, analyse complex scenarios, and implement effective solution under pressure. - Excellent Communication Skills: Clear verbal and writen communication to engage stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and regulatory bodies, experiencing in preparing reports and presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Project Planning and Strategy: Define project scope, objectives and execution strategies in with client requirement and organizational goal; conduct feasibility studies and develop comprehensive project plan.

- Team Building and Management: Assemble, guide, and mentor multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, technicians and support staff: conduct performance evaluations and provide professional development opportunities.

- Progress Monitoring and Delivery: Track project milestone using KPIs, implement corrective actions for delays, and ensure all deliverable meet quality benchmarks for timely handovers.

- Timeline and Milestone Management: Establish realistic schedules, allocate resources, efficiently and utilize Gant charts or similar tools to monitor adherence to deadlines.

- Risk Identification and Resolution: proactively identify potential risks (e.g., supply chain disruption, weather impacts) through regular audits and implement mitigation plans to minimize disruptions.

Job Description:

- Budget Management and Cost Control: Oversee financial aspect, including procurement invoicing, and variance analysis Negotiations contracts to optimize cost while maintaining project integrity.

- Customer Satisfaction: Maintain strong client relationships through regular updates, issues resolutions, and post- project feedback sessions to achieve high satisfaction ratings.

- Performance Evaluation and Improvement: Conduct post – project reviews to assess outcomes, identify lessons learned and recommend process enhancement for future initiatives.

- On – Time and On – Budget Completion: Guarantee all projects and delivered within approved timelines and financial constraints with zero tolerance for scope creep.

- Stakeholder Coordination: Facilitate seamless collaboration between internal departments, external vendors, subcontractors and regulatory authority to align efforts.

- Material Management: Ensure procurement, logistics and on-site ava of critical materials (E.g., panels, cabling) to prevent botlenecks in the project timelines.

- Quality Control and Safety Standards: Enforce HSE (Health, safety, and Environment) protocols, conduct site audits, and implement quality assurance measures to mitigate risks and comply with ISO 45001 standards.

- Standard Adherence: Verify compliance with local regulations (e.g., building codes)

- Technical Oversight : Supervise on – site technical execution, validate design specifications against approved drawing, and perform inspection on key equipment like solar modules, inverters, and transforms.

- Electrical Compliance: Ensure all electrical installation, wiring and tesing align with approved schematics, safety guideline and performance specifications.
