Job Description: We're looking for an Associate Director of AI to own how AI shapes our product and our company. This is a rare role: equal parts technical, strategic, and operational. You'll sit between product and engineering as a force multiplier making both teams faster, sharper, and better aligned while simultaneously driving how every function at Fluent works in an AI-first way. You'll report directly to the COO/Chief Product Officer and be a core part of our leadership team. This isn't an advisory position. You'll have real ownership, real scope, and direct access to leadership from day one. If you want to define how an AI-first health tech company actually operates product, culture, and everything in between this is that job.

Responsibilities: Product & Engineering Bridge: Own the AI product roadmap what gets built, in what order, and why Work hands-on with engineering to architect and ship AI-powered features Run rapid prototypes and proof of concepts to give the product team real signal before full engineering cycles are committed Be the technical reality check between product ambition and engineering feasibility Own the shared AI tooling stack used across product and engineering no fragmentation, no duplication Drive data strategy for AI: how health data is structured, labeled, and governed to power features reliably and compliantly Internal AI Enablement: Audit and rebuild internal workflows across ops, clinical, support, and marketing using AI tooling Set company-wide standards for how AI is used responsibly, consistently, and effectively Define what AI fluency looks like across every role at Fluent and embed that into how we hire and onboard Team & Culture: Build and lead an AI-capable team over time hire, mentor, and set the bar Establish Fluent as an AI-first organization from the inside out

Qualifications: 7-11 years in AI, machine learning, or technical product roles, with demonstrated leadership experience. We care more about what you've shipped and how you've led than how long you've been doing it. Serious technical depth you can work directly in the stack, not just talk about it Strong understanding of LLMs, ML systems, AI infrastructure, and build vs. buy tradeoffs Experience working with health data is a strong plus you understand HIPAA, data sensitivity, and clinical context Track record of shipping AI features in production, not just building prototypes Equally comfortable in a whiteboard session with engineers and a strategy conversation with the leadership team Based in Mumbai and able to work on-site
