Role Overview
Gryneo looking for a seasoned Senior Design Engineer with strong experience in Power Plant design and layout engineering, who will act as a technical interface and design reviewer between the client, EPC subcontractors, and equipment suppliers.
The role is not intended for detailed drafting but for review, validation, coordination, and technical governance of engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project intent, safety requirements, and cost optimization.
Education:
B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
15+ years of experience in piping design & engineering in
Waste Heat Recovery Power Plants
Steam & Utility Systems
Refinery / Metallurgical / Process Plants
Experience in projects above 15–20 MW steam-based power systems preferred.
Your new role –
Design Review & Engineering Governance
Review detailed engineering submissions from subcontractors, consultants, and OEM suppliers. And ensuring alignment of engineering deliverables with project HMB, process philosophy, and contractual scope.
Review piping layouts, support drawings, and BOMs with focus on constructability, operability, and cost optimization.
Review design from Waste Heat Boiler to STG, including feedwater, condensate, and BOP systems.
Have an overview of various types of pumps, heat exchangers, instrument hook up, pipe fittings, valves & specialty items.
Convert client requirements into actionable engineering deliverables for subcontractors.
Identify interface gaps between civil, structural, piping, electrical, and instrumentation designs.
Technical Evaluation & Validation
Review and validate: Pipe sizing, thickness calculations, and material selection, Pressure drop calculations Corrosion and erosion considerations
Stress analysis reports and support philosophy
Evaluate design assumptions and highlight risks during early engineering stages.
Codes, Standards & Compliance
Ensure compliance with applicable standards: ASME B31.1 / B31.3, ASME BPVC, ANSI, IBR, EJMA, Relevant international power plant standards
Engineering Integration
Review civil and structural layouts, cable routing, and equipment arrangements for clashes and constructability.
Review 3D model submissions (PDMS / E3D / CADISON) for interface and accessibility.
Ensure coordination between piping layout and STG installation requirements.
Technical Skills Required
Strong understanding of steam systems and power plant piping engineering.
Experience in AutoCAD (2D) and exposure to PDMS / E3D / CADISON environments.
Ability to interpret stress analysis reports and vendor drawings.
Knowledge of pumps, heat exchangers, valves, and specialty piping items.
