Job Purpose/ Summary Head procurement will support the Group Central Procurement Head in developing and executing procurement strategies that align with the Group's objectives. This role will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of procurement processes, ensuring compliance with quality standards, promoting cost-effectiveness, and integrating digital technologies into procurement including items for projects. He will collaborate with various stakeholders to optimize procurement activities and manage risk & will also be responsible for implementing the central procurement strategy for all capital equipment such as rotary equipment, material handling equipment, electrical and distribution equipment, plant aut omation and common bulk material and commodities such as cement, steel, cables, utilities etc. This is to ensure that all our projects are completed on time and within the budgeted cost and helping businesses achieve their projected profitability. Job Title Head of Department Procurement Job Description Ensure implementation of the central procurement plan for common bulk commodities such as cement, steel, cables, utilities, Air, Water etc. in all projects Manage relationships with suppliers and actively negotiate for best rates and terms for contracting and help businesses achieve their projected profitability Regular spend analysis to drive economies of scale across businesses for bulk commodities and deliver savings annually Harmonise product codes across businesses for bulk material and commodities. Work closely on the group’s digital transformation roadmap for the Procurement function for capex and opex items Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, governance standards, defined SLAs, and the RACI matrix in the procurement process. Support the Central Economic Cell in identifying market trends and other factors that could impact procurement, and help devise risk mitigation strategies. Knowledge of Design engineering preferred and must be techno commercial expert Knowledge of value engineering for selection of equipment Principal Accountabilities Strategy and execution of bulk procurement strategies and rate negotiations, supplier relations etc. Co-planning demand estimate of common bulk commodities and guiding budget allocation, challenges around cash flows that could impact vendor payments. Help businesses achieve their projected profitability. Incorporating insights around macroeconomic trends that could impact bulk procurement strategies in demand planning. Drive integration of AI and emerging tech for improving procurement processes (for both Capex and Opex. such as AI driven demand planning.
