Senior Engineering Manager – Backend (Big Data | Spark)

Our client building one of India’s largest online grocery and supply-chain platforms, operating across 30+ cities and processing over 15 million customer orders every month. We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Big Data application engineering teams and drive scalable, high-availability backend systems.

The role involves leading and mentoring large engineering teams, including multiple Engineering Managers, while owning the technical strategy for big-data applications. You will architect and deliver data-intensive systems using Spark, Python, Scala, and cloud-native technologies. The position requires close collaboration with product, data science, and platform teams to translate business needs into reliable technical solutions.

Candidates should have 9–12 years of experience in backend or data engineering, with 4+ years in people leadership roles managing large teams. Strong expertise in SQL, data modelling, workflow orchestration, cloud platforms, and real-time data systems is essential. This is a senior leadership role with significant impact at scale.
