B) About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and talented Senior Renewable Energy and Policy & Regulatory Professional to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation in Renewable Energy Projects along with deep expertise in policy and regulatory frameworks. As a Senior Analyst/Manager, you will work closely with RE and Policy & Regulatory team to manage RE related assignments, ensuring high quality outputs, regulatory compliance and timely responsive support to client requirement.
C) Detailed expectations from the role:
- Perform independent assessments and technical reviews of Solar and Wind power projects for financial institutions.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews of Technical Due Diligence reports for RE projects.
- Prepare tender documents and Requests for Proposal (RFP) for RE power projects and evaluate bid responses to ensure alignment with project requirements and objectives.
- Develop detailed Feasibility Studies and Detailed Project Reports (DPR) for solar and wind power projects, providing in-depth analysis and recommendations.
- Provide advisory services for development of strategic roadmaps to transition to RE sources, including open access or captive power plant solutions based on clients' requirements.
- PMC services for solar, wind and hybrid power plants under construction.
- Perform comprehensive financial modeling including calculations of levelized cost and open access landed tariffs for energy procurement.
- Analyze and interpret appropriate regulatory guidelines and policies affecting energy tariff and project development.
- Provide detailed reports and presentations on tariff calculations and their financial impact.
- Conduct rooftop solar assessment and perform cost-benefit analysis.
- Perform site visits and conduct land assessments to examine practicality of solar and wind power projects installation.
- Support clients in regulatory compliance, approvals, and documentation related to open access, grid connectivity, and power evacuation.
- Monitor upcoming policy amendments, draft regulations, and consultation papers, and provide strategic inputs and representations where required.
D) Required skill set
- Proven experience in project engineering and management within the RE sector. Strong knowledge of electrical and civil engineering principles related to RE systems.
- Experience with technical due diligence, feasibility studies, and project reporting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare detailed reports and technical documentation.
- Understanding of technical, policy and regulatory aspects associated with solar, wind and hybrid power projects.
- In-depth understanding of captive/group captive regulations, open access regulation and procedures, GNA, and other policies like net metering, gross metering, wheeling charges, CSS etc.
- Experience in preparing and reviewing tendering documents, Requests for Proposal (RFPs), RFQs, bid documents, and contractual frameworks for renewable energy, hybrid, RTC, and storage projects.
- Ability to support bid evaluation, techno-commercial assessments, and clarification responses during tendering and regulatory approval stages.
- Ability to ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks and assess guidelines from authorities like CERC, SERC, and MOP.
- Good understanding of RE RTC solutions including BESS/PHSP solutions and related policies.
- Understanding of evacuation infrastructure and processes.
- Knowledge of micro-siting, WRA and Energy Yield Estimation for installation of RE project.
E) Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferred streams are Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or a related field. Master's degree preferred (MBA/M. Tech).
- At least 7 years of relevant experience.
F) Location
- Base location shall be Ahmedabad. However, the role would require the applicant to undertake travel for pursuing various opportunities.
