Applied GenAI Engineer (1–2 Years Experience)

About the Role Colate is seeking a highly motivated Applied GenAI Engineer with 1–2 years of practical experience building LLM-powered solutions. You will be responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing new and existing AI agents that automate key workflows across the company. Key Responsibilities • Build, deploy, and maintain GenAI agents for automation use cases. • Develop and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines. • Work with LLMs, embeddings, vector databases, and prompt engineering. • Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) client and server components. • Integrate agents with internal tools, APIs, and automation workflows. • Maintain and improve existing agent systems for reliability and performance. • Use LangChain and LangGraph to design structured agent workflows. • Write clean, maintainable code in Python and/or JavaScript. • Debug context issues, analyze outputs, and optimize retrieval quality. • Collaborate with product and automation teams to identify new AI opportunities. Required Skills & Experience • 1–2 years of experience as an Applied AI / GenAI / LLM Engineer. • Strong understanding of LLM fundamentals: tokens, prompting, inference. • Hands-on experience building RAG systems. • Solid understanding of embedding algorithms (cosine, dot-product, etc.). • Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma). • Practical experience with LangChain and LangGraph. • Strong Python and/or JavaScript development skills. • Experience working with MCP client and server components. • Knowledge of agent architectures and multi-step reasoning workflows. Nice to Have • Experience with fine-tuning (LoRA, QLoRA). • Familiarity with major LLM providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.). • Cloud or container experience (AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker). • Basic MLOps or DevOps knowledge. What You’ll Work On • Building new intelligent agents from scratch. • Enhancing existing automation agents used by Colate. • Designing retrieval systems for documents, chats, tasks, and knowledge sources. • Integrating agents with APIs and business workflows. • Experimenting with emerging frameworks and model protocols.
