About the Role

We are looking for a deeply technical SAP HR ABAP engineer who builds solutions from first principles. This is not a support role and not a functional configuration role. This is core HR engineering.

You will work at the heart of SAP HCM, designing and stabilizing complex HR logic across Personnel Administration, Organizational Management, Payroll, and Time Management.

Freelancers are not being considered. This is a long term engineering position.

What You Will Do

• Design and implement complex HR solutions in ABAP from the ground up • Work extensively with the SAP HR infotype framework, including custom infotypes, dynamic actions, time constraints, subtype handling, and validation logic • Extend and stabilize PA, OM, Payroll, and Time processes • Develop and maintain integrations using SOAP web services, RFCs, and classic HR data exchange patterns • Build high performance reports, conversion programs, and batch jobs with strong attention to scalability and reliability • Collaborate with architects on long term HR platform strategy • Support transformation initiatives toward S 4HANA while protecting critical HR business logic

What We Expect

• 10 or more years of ABAP experience, with at least 7 years focused specifically on SAP HCM engineering • Deep understanding of the HR infotype framework and master data clusters • Strong ABAP Objects skills, plus hands on experience with enhancements, BADIs, user exits, and HR specific function modules • Proven experience with SOAP services, proxies, and RFC integrations, beyond simple OData scenarios • Ability to design robust data models and optimize performance in large scale HR environments • Advanced debugging skills in Payroll and Time evaluation contexts • Engineering mindset focused on clean architecture, maintainable code, and long term stability

Nice to Have

• Experience with ALE and IDoc distribution for HR data • Knowledge of S/4HANA HR compatibility scenarios • Exposure to CPI or other middleware platforms, while remaining primarily ABAP focused
