Key Responsibilities A SAP Project System/Investment Management job description typically involves managing and configuring the SAP Project System (PS) module, which allows for detailed project planning, cost tracking, and resource allocation, while also utilizing the Investment Management (IM) functionality to oversee capital expenditure projects, including budgeting, funding, and asset tracking within an organization; key responsibilities include analyzing business requirements, designing project structures, configuring system settings, performing data migration, testing, training users, and providing ongoing support for project execution and financial reporting related to capital investments. Key responsibilities may include: Requirement gathering and analysis: Understanding business needs for project management and investment planning, identifying gaps, and translating them into functional specifications for SAP PS and IM configurations. Project structuring: Designing project hierarchies (WBS), defining project phases, assigning responsible teams, and setting up appropriate project control parameters within the SAP PS module. Investment planning: Creating investment programs, defining budget allocations, and managing investment measures within the SAP IM module to track capital expenditures. Cost management: Setting up cost elements, monitoring project costs against budget, performing variance analysis, and identifying potential cost overruns. Resource planning: Assigning project team members, managing resource capacity, and tracking resource utilization. Integration with other modules: Ensuring seamless data flow between SAP PS/IM and other modules like Finance (FI), Controlling (CO), and Materials Management (MM). System configuration: Customizing SAP PS and IM settings based on business requirements, including defining project types, work breakdown structures, and approval workflows.
