1. Position Overview

The Critical Care Technologist posted at the University Dispensary will be responsible for providing primary healthcare assistance, basic clinical support, first aid, and emergency response services to students, faculty members, and staff on campus. The role supports the Medical Officer in ensuring the effective delivery of healthcare services within the university community.

The position involves maintaining the readiness of the university dispensary, assisting in clinical procedures, managing basic medical records, and responding to medical emergencies occurring within the campus environment. The technologist will play a vital role in promoting health awareness, supporting preventive healthcare practices, and ensuring timely medical support for a campus population of approximately

Key Responsibilities:-

1. Clinical Support and Patient Care • Assist the Medical Officer in providing basic medical care and treatment to students, faculty, and staff. • Provide first aid and immediate response in case of medical emergencies within the campus. • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, temperature, and respiratory rate. • Assist in minor medical procedures and clinical assessments as directed by the Medical Officer. • Provide basic nursing care and support for patients visiting the dispensary.

2. Emergency Response • Respond promptly to medical emergencies occurring on campus and provide immediate stabilization support. • Coordinate with nearby hospitals or ambulance services in case of referrals or critical situations. • Ensure availability and proper functioning of emergency equipment such as oxygen cylinders, first aid kits, and basic monitoring devices.

3. Dispensary Management • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and readiness of the university dispensary. • Ensure adequate stock and proper storage of medical supplies, medicines, and equipment. • Assist in maintaining medical records and patient registers in compliance with institutional guidelines. • Support the Medical Officer in organizing periodic health check-ups or medical camps for the university community.

4. Health Awareness and Preventive Care • Assist in organizing health awareness programmes, vaccination drives, and preventive healthcare initiatives within the campus. • Educate students and staff on basic health practices, hygiene, and emergency response.

5. Administrative Support • Maintain proper documentation of patient visits and treatments administered at the dispensary. • Assist in preparing basic health reports or records as required by the university administration.

Educational Qualifications:-

• Graduate in a relevant healthcare discipline (such as Nursing, Paramedical Science, Critical Care Technology, or equivalent). • Additional certification in

Basic Life Support (BLS)

or

Emergency Care

will be considered an advantage.

Experience:-

• Minimum

2–3 years of clinical or hospital experience , preferably in emergency care, nursing assistance, or critical care support.

Key Skills and Competencies:-

• Basic clinical and patient care skills • Ability to handle medical emergencies calmly and efficiently • Knowledge of first aid and emergency response procedures • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Basic record-keeping and documentation ability • Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and university administration
