Payroll Finance Deputy Manager/Manager (Hyderabad)
This role is responsible for managing and optimizing all payroll processes for India Operations (13000+ associates), ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and partnership with broad Finance, IT and HR teams. This role will oversee payroll operations, accounting, statutory filings, payroll audits and drive process improvements for a large and complex employee base.
Role Requirement:
Manage end-to-end payroll operations for India, overseeing salary calculations, deductions, and benefits administration for large teams, ensuring timely and accurate disbursements in accordance with Indian statutory norms and company policy.
Manage payroll accounting, reconciliations, and ensure proper integration with financial systems for accurate recording and reporting.
Oversee statutory compliance including PF, Gratuity, ESIC, LWF, PT, TDS, and ensure all filings are completed on time; keep abreast of legislative changes and implement necessary process adjustments.
Prepare and submit the Salary TDS Returns, Issue Form 16 for all India associates.
Partner with Actuary and FP&A teams on the Actuarial Valuations for Ind AS and US GAAP
Direct payroll audits, manage internal controls, and support tax audits and statutory reporting requirements.
Collaborate with HR, finance, and Technology to maintain data integrity and resolve escalated payroll queries.
Prepare and present payroll reports and analytics to management to enable strategic decision-making; provide insights on payroll costs and trends.
Excellent Project and Program management skills including experience in large cross functional and/or cross geographical projects. Hands on experience of owning program governance and operational cadence for global finance and cross functional projects.
Drive finance transformation initiates across the group. Identify and implement technology solutions and automation to enhance payroll process efficiency and control.
Act as the escalation point for complex payroll issues, handling senior management queries and ensuring effective resolution.
Technical and General Skills:
- Must be a Qualified CA/MBA(Fin) with 10 - 15 years of relevant Payroll Finance experience.
- Proven expertise managing large, multi-location payroll (headcount 5,000+), payroll accounting, and statutory compliance
- Hands-on with complex payroll systems (SAP/Oracle/ ADP) and MS Excel.
- Proactive approach to driving continual improvements and managing stakeholders
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
