POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Science & Analytics team (DSA) is seeking a Manager of Business Intelligence Engineering. Success in this role is about producing a high volume of report/query/visualization outputs (like an assembly line: hands-on work all day long). Required skills are SQL (being a fast programmer—we’ll test this as well—think window functions, nested queries, stored procedures), PowerBI (complex visualizations), Excel (with VBA), a hunger for business knowledge, ability to communicate in business terms, and a passion for automating technical workflows. Nice-to-have skills are experience in Mortgages, experience in SAS, experience in Python, consultancy experience, Data Science experience.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, build, and maintain high‑volume BI reporting assets including SQL queries, stored procedures, Power BI datasets, dashboards, and operational reports supporting servicing and originations workflows.
Operate as a highly hands‑on individual contributor, producing a steady throughput of reports, analyses, and visualizations in response to business demand.
Develop complex SQL logic (window functions, nested queries, performance‑optimized joins) to support pipeline tracking, status monitoring, exception reporting, and ad‑hoc deep dives.
Build and enhance Power BI dashboards with complex measures, calculated tables, and visuals that translate operational data into clear business insights.
Automate recurring reporting, data preparation, and quality checks using SQL, Power BI, and Excel/VBA to reduce manual effort and improve reliability.
Partner closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements, clarify definitions, and translate business questions into precise analytical outputs.
Support strategic analysis and opportunity mining by rapidly iterating on queries and reports as business questions evolve.
Maintain documentation, data definitions, and reusable query/report patterns to improve consistency and scalability.
Ensure accuracy, performance, and consistency of reporting outputs in alignment with data governance and audit expectations.
Contribute to continuous improvement of BI engineering standards, tooling, and workflow automation within the Data Science & Analytics organization.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Minimum education required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
Preferred education: Master’s degree in a quantitative or analytics‑focused discipline.
Minimum years of experience required: 3–4 years in business intelligence, analytics engineering, or reporting‑focused data roles.
Specific skills or abilities needed:
Strong proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, window functions, subqueries, and performance optimization.
Hands‑on experience building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, datasets, and semantic models.
Advanced Excel skills, including formulas and VBA for automation.
Demonstrated ability to work at high output and manage multiple reporting and analysis requests concurrently.
Strong business acumen and ability to communicate analytical findings in clear, non‑technical terms.
Experience translating loosely defined business questions into precise analytical deliverables.
Interest in automating data and reporting workflows to improve efficiency and scalability.
Experience in mortgage, financial services, or highly regulated data environments is a plus.
Familiarity with SAS or other legacy analytics platforms is a plus.

3 pm to 12 Midnight (Mostly remote)
