Job Description
Role Overview We are seeking a highly skilled
Embedded Firmware & Security Engineer
to design, develop, and secure embedded systems for real-time industrial and pharmacy automation hardware platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in C/C++ firmware development, Linux kernel-level work, real-time control systems, and embedded security implementations.
This role requires deep expertise in both
low-level firmware development
and
secure communication architecture
across connected devices.
Key ResponsibilitiesFirmware & Embedded Development
Develop and maintain
C/C++ embedded firmware
Work with
Renesas H8S toolchain
and microcontroller-based systems
Develop and debug
Linux kernel-level components (PICO-PI or similar platforms)
Design and implement
real-time control systems
Integrate firmware with pharmacy/industrial automation hardware
Optimize system performance and memory usage
Embedded Security & Network Architecture
Implement
mTLS/TLS-based secure communication
Develop and integrate
RFID authentication systems
Design
secure device provisioning and certificate management
Implement
network segmentation and device-level security controls
Perform
threat modeling and risk analysis
Harden embedded databases (e.g.,
Firebird DB hardening )
Conduct secure firmware update design (OTA/secure boot – good to have)
System Engineering
Participate in architecture reviews and protocol security assessments
Collaborate with backend and hardware teams
Support SCA scans and vulnerability remediation
Contribute to secure SDLC documentation
Required Skills & QualificationsMandatory Skills
Strong expertise in
C/C++ embedded firmware development
Experience with
Renesas H8S or similar microcontrollers
Linux kernel or low-level Linux systems programming
Real-time operating systems (RTOS) experience
TLS/mTLS implementation knowledge
Embedded cryptography fundamentals
Network security basics (segmentation, firewall rules, etc.)
Experience with RFID-based authentication systems
Threat modeling and secure design principles
Good to Have
Pharmacy automation or medical device domain experience
Firebird DB hardening experience
Secure boot / OTA update implementation
IEC/ISO security standards exposure (medical/industrial)
Experience in regulated environments
Soft Skills
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
Ability to work with cross-functional teams (hardware, backend, DevOps)
Strong documentation skills
Risk-aware and security-first mindset
