Senior Executive / Asst. Manager - Purchase MRO

The Purchase MRO is responsible for sourcing, procurement, and management of MRO supplies and materials required for maintenance, repair, and operational activities. This role ensures timely procurement of quality materials at competitive prices, maintains vendor relationships, and manages inventory levels to support uninterrupted plant or facility operations.

Responsibilities

Identify and evaluate vendors for MRO supplies and services. Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet operational needs. Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to optimize cost efficiency. Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions and inventory levels. Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams to understand their requirements. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to delivery, quality, or service. Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement procedures. Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends and new sources of supply. Manage and update the MRO procurement database and documentation. Assist in cost reduction initiatives and process improvement projects

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline (preferred). 6–9 years of relevant experience in MRO procurement, preferably in manufacturing or heavy engineering industries. Hands-on experience with vendor management, negotiations, and inventory control. Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP / Oracle or similar) will be an added advantage. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills Good understanding of MRO materials and procurement processes
