Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and detail-driven
Commercial & Credit Control Manager
to oversee commercial operations, contract management, and credit control processes. This role ensures that all business transactions are commercially sound, financially viable, and aligned with company policies. The ideal candidate will manage client contracts, billing cycles, receivables, and risk exposure while working closely with finance, sales, and operations teams in a fast-growing
Electronics & IoT startup
environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Management
Review and negotiate client contracts, purchase orders, and service agreements to ensure commercial viability.
Coordinate with sales and project teams on pricing, quotations, and bid submissions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, legal terms, and taxation requirements (GST, TDS, etc.).
Track project milestones for billing and revenue recognition.
Support management in commercial forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis.
Develop and implement commercial policies and standard operating procedures.
Credit Control & Receivables Management
Monitor customer accounts and ensure timely collection of outstanding invoices.
Evaluate creditworthiness of customers and recommend appropriate credit limits.
Maintain accurate records of billing, collections, and payment follow-ups.
Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers and resolve discrepancies.
Collaborate with finance to manage cash flow and DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) targets.
Prepare periodic reports on collection status, aging, and risk exposure.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure payment discipline.
Cross-functional Coordination
Liaise with sales, operations, and legal teams to resolve contract or billing disputes.
Support external audits and compliance reviews with required documentation.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives in commercial and financial workflows.
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelorโs degree
in
Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration .
MBA in Finance or CA (Inter)
preferred.
5โ10 years
of experience in
commercial operations and credit control , preferably in
electronics, manufacturing, or technology sectors .
Strong understanding of
invoicing, taxation (GST/TDS), and financial reconciliation processes .
Proficient in
MS Excel ,
ERP systems
(Tally / SAP / Zoho Books), and reporting tools.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Preferred Attributes:
Experience working with
public sector / enterprise clients .
Familiarity with
project-based billing or hardware/software contracts .
Exposure to
IoT or tech product-based commercial models
(subscription, licensing, etc.).
A proactive, analytical mindset with ownership of financial outcomes.
