Role: IBM iSeries (AS/400) Developer

Location: Remote (Pan India) Minimum exp.: 7-12 Years Hire Type: Permanent

Role & Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and maintain RPG/RPGLE programs and CL jobs on IBM iSeries (AS/400) for transactional and batch systems. • Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement stable fixes to minimize downtime. • Optimize SQL400 and DB2 for i queries, file layouts, and program logic to improve throughput and reduce processing windows. • Implement interfaces and integrations (service programs, stored procedures, APIs) for downstream systems and middleware. • Participate in code reviews, release activities, and change-control processes; produce clear technical documentation. • Collaborate with business analysts, QA, and operations; mentor junior developers to raise team capability.

Skills & Qualifications:

Must-Have: • IBM iSeries (AS/400) • RPGLE • RPG III/IV • CLLE • DB2 for iSeries • SQL400

Preferred: • IBM Rational Developer for i or equivalent IDE • Experience with REST/service program development and modernization patterns
