Position Title: Logistics Engineer

1. Role Overview
The Logistics Engineer is responsible for managing and optimizing all logistics-related activities within the Warehouse Department. The role oversees vehicle placement, dock allocation, yard flow, FG dispatch planning, coordination with Central Logistics & Security, and end-to-end TAT monitoring. The position ensures seamless outbound operations, accurate documentation, cost efficiency, and high safety compliance across logistics processes and supports warehouse manager in achieving dispatch, TAT, and outbound KPIs
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Vehicle Placement & Scheduling
Ensure timely placement of vehicles based on daily/shift dispatch plans.
Coordinate with Central Logistics for vehicle allocation, routing, and vendor alignment.
Follow up with transporters to ensure on-time vehicle reporting and readiness.
Monitor inbound/outbound queues and reduce detention & waiting times.
B. Dock Planning & Management
Allocate docks based on vehicle type, dispatch priority, and material readiness.
Coordinate with warehouse for staging, sequencing, and dock availability.
Maintain smooth vehicle flow at docks with zero congestion.
Align with Security for controlled gate-in, document verification & parking discipline.
C. FG Dispatch Planning & Monitoring
Prepare and execute daily FG dispatch plan aligned with production & customer demand.
Ensure compliance to packaging standards and proper load optimization.
Verify dispatch quantities, pallet/carton count, batch/lot before loading.
Track gate-out TAT, transit delays, delivery adherence & POD closure.
D. Yard & Internal Movement (Vehicles & MHE)
Control internal movement of trucks, trailers, forklifts & MHE in warehouse premises.
Plan safe parking zones, vehicle flow paths & eliminate congestion risks.
Check yard occupancy and maintain real-time visibility of vehicle movement.
Improve forklift routing for safe and efficient loading operations.
E. TAT Monitoring & Performance Control
Monitor end-to-end TAT: vehicle reporting → dock assignment → loading → gate-out.
Publish daily/weekly TAT dashboards and highlight deviations.
Drive RCA/CAPA for TAT failures or process delays.
F. Supply Frequency Planning & Optimization
Define and finalize supply frequency based on FG availability, production plan & customer demand.
Optimize frequency through route planning, load consolidation & cost/service balance.
Communicate finalized frequency across Warehouse, Production, Central Logistics & Transporters.
G. Transporter & Vendor Performance
Track transporter performance (placement %, SLA, transit, damages/shortages).
Support Central Logistics in escalation, review meetings, and performance dashboards.
Verify transporter documentation and support freight bill closures.
H. Documentation, Systems & Reporting
Ensure 100% accurate dispatch documentation: Invoice, LR, e-Way Bill, Packing List, COA, Gate Pass.
Update all dispatches in SAP / WMS / TMS / GPS dashboards.
Maintain MIS: dispatch summary, placement report, TAT dashboard, yard report & POD tracker.
Support digital automation for dock scheduling, yard gate tracking and GPS visibility.
I. EHS & Compliance
Ensure vehicle safety checks, PPE use, safe loading/lashing, and compliance to legal weight limits.
Verify driver documents, vehicle fitness & e-way bill validity.
Maintain safe segregation of pedestrians, trucks & MHE routes.
3. Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of logistics operations (inbound, outbound, dispatch, routing, TAT).
SAP Modules: MM, WM/EWM, TM, SD
Knowledge of WMS / TMS / GPS tracking dashboards.
Strong Excel & MIS reporting.
Packaging, loading pattern, vehicle utilization, and dispatch documentation.
Soft Skills
Strong coordination with Warehouse, Security, Central Logistics & Production teams.
Good communication, follow-up discipline & problem-solving ability.
Presentation skills for daily/weekly reporting.
RCA/CAPA and continuous improvement mindset.
EHS Skills
Knowledge of vehicle safety norms, loading safety, and warehouse logistics hazards.
Understanding of RTO regulations, road transport rules & statutory compliance.
4. Qualification & Experience
Education: Technical Diploma or Other Graduate
Experience: 4–6 years of experience strictly from a manufacturing setup
(Automotive / Engineering / Electronics / FMCG / Industrial Manufacturing)
