Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and strategic
Associate Category Manager
to drive growth and efficiency in our category operations. The ideal candidate will have
2-3 years of experience in a strategic role - building and operating categories, sales, and vendor management . This role requires a strong
problem-solving mindset , the ability to conduct
root cause analysis , and a
data-driven approach
to decision-making. The Category Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business challenges and implement effective solutions that align with company goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Revenue & Growth
Drive category-level revenue growth and achieve assigned targets.
Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities within the category.
Introduce premium offerings to increase average order value and profitability.
2. Pricing & Margin Management
Optimize margins while ensuring competitive and market-aligned pricing.
Standardize rate cards, packages, and pricing frameworks.
Collaborate closely with Sales and Planning teams to close deals profitably.
Monitor discounting practices and maintain strong commercial discipline.
3. Demand Fulfilment & Cross-Functional Coordination
Ensure timely vendor allocation for confirmed events.
Coordinate with Planners and City teams for seamless execution.
Maintain backup vendor options to mitigate last-minute risks.
4. Quality & Experience Management
Track and evaluate vendor performance across events.
Gather internal feedback from Planners and WEMs to assess quality standards.
Continuously improve vendor quality benchmarks.
Identify, manage, or replace underperforming vendors.
5. Reporting & Data Tracking
Monitor and analyze key metrics including:
Category revenue
Gross margin
Vendor performance score
Conversion support rate
Share structured weekly updates with the Category Lead / City Lead.
6. Vendor Onboarding & Supply Expansion
Identify and onboard high-quality vendors within the assigned category.
Negotiate commercial terms, margins, and payment structures.
Ensure all vendor documentation, contracts, and pricing are standardized and updated.
Build and maintain a strong, diverse vendor base across cities.
Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills
with a strategic mindset.
Ability to build and grow category business from scratch, launch new categories, new geographical markets
Hands-on experience with
Category management, vendor management, and business development .
Proficiency in
data analysis and working with analytical tools (Excel, SQL, BI Tools, etc.) .
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and drive cross-functional initiatives.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of market trends and competitor strategies within the industry.
Qualifications & Experience:
2-3 years
of relevant experience in
category management, sales, business strategy, vendor management .
