Senior AI & Microsoft Fabric Engineer

About the Role We are a data-focused organization expanding into AI-enabled solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Azure AI services. We are looking for a hands-on senior resource who can work directly with our internal data lead to design and build practical AI use cases on top of our Microsoft ecosystem. This is a part-time role (15–20 hours per week) focused on execution, prototyping, and implementation - not just strategy. We are looking for someone who has hands-on experience. Responsibilities Work closely with internal data lead to design and build AI-driven solutions Develop AI use cases on top of Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse/Warehouse/Semantic Models) Implement Azure OpenAI integrations for enterprise data scenarios Build RAG-based solutions using structured and unstructured data Develop internal copilots or AI assistants using: Microsoft Fabric Azure OpenAI Copilot Studio (where applicable) Design and implement data-to-AI pipelines Build lightweight PoCs and production-ready prototypes Ensure proper security, role-based access, and governance in AI solutions Optimize LLM usage for cost and performance Stay updated on Microsoft AI roadmap and suggest practical improvements Mandatory Requirements 5+ years’ experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric Experience integrating Azure OpenAI with enterprise data Practical experience building RAG pipelines Good understanding of semantic models and Power BI integration Experience working with APIs and Azure services Ability to independently prototype and deploy AI solutions Strong problem-solving and execution mindset

Nice to have Experience with Copilot Studio or Power Platform AI Familiarity with Semantic Kernel or LangChain Experience implementing vector databases Understanding of multi-agent workflows Exposure to enterprise governance (Purview, RBAC, security controls)
