Job Description
About the Role
A leading global digital services and platform-led organization is entering a pivotal growth phase in India. The business is evolving from a single-product digital gifting model into a multi-product, technology-driven platform, with strong ambitions to scale significantly over the next 5 years.
This newly created role will act as the financial co-pilot to the India Managing Director, helping transition finance from a largely operational function into a strategic, commercial and growth-enabling partner.
This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives in high-growth, entrepreneurial and fast-changing environments, and is excited by building structure where little exists today.
Key Responsibilities
1. Commercial Finance & Strategic Business Partnering
- Act as the primary finance partner to the India MD and leadership team.
- Provide commercial insights across pricing, margins, partnerships, go-to-market strategies and new product launches.
- Build and manage product-, customer- and partner-level profitability models in a platform / SaaS-like environment.
- Support complex revenue models including prepayments, commissions, platform fees, advertising and partner revenue.
- Shape financial frameworks for strategic alliances, ecosystem partnerships and reseller models.
2. Finance Transformation & Scaling
- Lead the shift from reactive → proactive → predictive finance.
- Design scalable finance processes suitable for 1–10 to 10–100 growth journeys.
- Drive automation, standardisation and simplification of reporting and forecasting.
- Establish robust KPIs, dashboards and performance metrics to support rapid decision-making.
- Build financial resilience to support 10X growth over the next 5 years
3. Systems & Digital Enablement
- Lead ERP implementation and optimisation (Oracle / NetSuite preferred).
- Partner closely with Product, Technology and Operations teams to embed finance into platform workflows.
- Drive adoption of BI tools, analytics and automation across the finance function.
- Ensure systems are future-ready, scalable and transparent.
4. Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Oversee core finance including accounting, audit, tax, GST, transfer pricing, treasury and internal controls.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and global governance standards.
- Manage relationships with auditors, consultants and external service providers.
- Strengthen financial risk management across contracts, partnerships and revenue flows.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- 15+ years in commercial finance, business finance or finance leadership roles.
- Strong exposure to SaaS, fintech, e-commerce, digital platforms or tech-led services.
- Proven experience in finance transformation and scaling businesses.
- Hands-on ERP experience (Oracle / NetSuite highly preferred).
- Exposure to new product launches, platform monetisation and partnership models.
- Experience in high-growth, PE/VC-backed or entrepreneurial environments.
Personal Attributes
- Thrives in ambiguous, fast-paced environments
- Highly resilient, execution-focused and commercially sharp
- Comfortable switching between strategy and hands-on delivery
- Strong influencer across business, product and tech stakeholders
- Customer- and product-centric mindset
Not a Fit
- Traditional banking or highly structured, slow-moving organizations
- Candidates seeking narrow controllership-only or purely operational roles
Why This Role
- Opportunity to build and shape finance as a strategic function
- High-impact role in a business targeting 10X growth in India
- Strong alignment with a global 3-year and 5-year growth vision
- Significant exposure to new product development, platforms and partnerships
