Freelance Agentic AI Engineer – Azure & Databricks

Role Description We are looking for an experienced Freelance Agentic AI Engineer to design, build, and deploy intelligent agent-based AI systems on Azure using Databricks. The role focuses on developing autonomous and semi-autonomous AI agents, scalable data and ML pipelines, and production-grade AI platforms integrated with cloud-native services. Key Responsibilities • Design and build agentic AI systems using autonomous or orchestrated AI agents • Develop AI workflows involving task planning, reasoning, tool usage, and memory • Build and manage data pipelines and feature engineering workflows using Databricks • Develop and deploy ML and LLM-based solutions on Azure • Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems using APIs and event-driven architectures • Implement prompt engineering, agent orchestration, and tool calling logic • Design scalable system architectures for AI-driven applications • Optimize AI pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost • Implement monitoring, logging, and observability for AI workloads • Collaborate with data engineers, ML engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver AI solutions Required Skills and Experience • 8+ years of overall experience in AI, data engineering, or backend systems • Strong hands-on experience with Azure cloud services • Strong experience using Databricks for data engineering or ML workloads • Experience building agentic AI systems or multi-agent architectures • Experience working with LLMs and AI frameworks • Strong programming skills in Python • Experience building APIs and integrating AI services • Solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures • Strong problem-solving mindset with a delivery-oriented approach Preferred Experience • Experience with Azure ML, Azure OpenAI, or similar LLM platforms • Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation • Experience implementing MLOps or LLMOps pipelines • Exposure to real-time or streaming data pipelines
