Role Overview We are looking for a highly technical and hands-on
Lead of Technology
to drive the architecture, development, and scaling of Cloudhire’s AI-powered ATS platform.
This role is ideal for someone who can actively code, design scalable systems, and lead the engineering function. The ideal candidate has strong experience building SaaS products using modern technologies including
React, Node.js, Python, AWS, and Postgres , along with practical experience implementing AI/ML capabilities in production systems.
The ideal candidate should also have
experience working in the HRTech or recruitment technology domain and understand Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), recruitment workflows, and hiring lifecycle processes.
You will work closely with the founders to define technical direction, build scalable systems, and establish engineering excellence while contributing directly to the codebase.
Key ResponsibilitiesTechnology Architecture & Platform Development
Architect and scale a secure, high-performance, multi-tenant SaaS platform.
Design and develop scalable backend services using Node.js, Python, and Postgres.
Lead frontend architecture and development using React.js.
Build robust APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
Ensure scalability, performance, security, and reliability across the platform.
Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure on AWS.
Hands-on Engineering
Actively contribute to backend, frontend, and AI-related development.
Write clean, scalable, and maintainable production-grade code.
Design database schemas and optimize Postgres for performance and scalability.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
Drive engineering efficiency, scalability, and system reliability.
AI/ML Platform Development
Lead the development and integration of AI/ML capabilities into the platform.
Build intelligent systems such as resume parsing, candidate matching, scoring, and workflow automation.
Develop and deploy machine learning models and AI-powered services using Python.
Design scalable AI pipelines and integrate them into core product workflows.
Continuously improve platform intelligence using modern AI frameworks and tools.
Engineering Leadership
Lead and mentor engineers while remaining hands-on technically.
Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and scalable architecture.
Help hire and build a high-performing engineering team.
Drive ownership, accountability, and strong engineering culture.
Operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
Product & Strategic Collaboration
Work closely with founders on product and technology roadmap.
Translate product vision into scalable technical execution.
Support long-term technical planning and platform scalability.
Contribute to strategic technology decisions and innovation.
Required Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with:
React.js (Frontend development)
Node.js (Backend development)
Python (Backend and AI/ML development)
AWS (Cloud infrastructure and scalable deployments)
Postgres (Database design, optimization, and scaling)
REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems
Full-stack SaaS architecture
CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
AI/ML Experience (Required)
Experience building or integrating AI/ML features into real-world products
Strong Python experience for AI/ML systems
Experience with ML frameworks, APIs, or AI-driven automation
Understanding of deploying and scaling AI systems in production
Experience with intelligent automation and data-driven systems
HRTech / ATS Domain Experience (Preferred)
Experience working on HRTech, Recruitment platforms, or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS)
Strong understanding of recruitment workflows including job posting, candidate sourcing, screening, interview pipelines, and hiring lifecycle
Experience building or integrating features such as resume parsing, candidate tracking, interview workflows, and recruitment automation
Familiarity with recruitment data models and hiring lifecycle management
Prior experience working in HRTech startups or recruitment technology platforms is highly preferred
Required Background
8–12 years of software engineering experience
Strong hands-on coding and architecture experience
Experience building and scaling SaaS products
Experience leading or mentoring engineers
Experience working on or building HRTech, ATS, or recruitment-related software platforms preferred
Startup or product company experience preferred
Strong ownership mindset and execution capability
