Reporting Reports to the Global Financial and Operational Controller Responsibilities/Key tasks •Cashflow management •Maintenance of financial ledgers and accounting processes •Closely monitor realization of pre-calculated margins, in close cooperation with Trade, Logistics & Operational Control and the origin entities •Post calculation on physical contracts •Responsible for effectively managing and delivering accurate budgeting and medium term planning within the company’s timelines, including cost control •Understand the operation’s trade flows, their impact on cash management, resource usage and statutory reporting •Daily accounting work •Finalize quality and weight with clients and suppliers for all commodities; •Operational control reporting of end-to-end physical cocoa flow (quantity, quality, humidity, time. etc); Keep the OCCT files updated for all commodities •Make and send out annual Operational Control report •Leading the operational tasks of documentary collection, including implementation, reconciliation, control and interactions with associated banks •Debtors and receivables control •Accounts payables control •Payroll process •Review of annual accounts package and statutory reports •Completion of annual audit or any other ad hoc audit from (potential) investors •Proactively gain an understanding of new accounting standards and their potential impact on the company’s results •Prepare for and manage internal and external annual audits – maintain a strong internal control environment and ensuring all risk limits are strictly adhered to. •Preparation of VAT returns •Ensures the company remains in line with UAE commodities trading activities and tax regulations. •Control of third party representative office costs in origin countries, including supervision of their financial and legal activities •Arrange KYC with counterparties if non-major/not listed •Support management and Global Financial and Operational Controller in onboarding at financial institutions, financiers and clients •Report to management and trade on •status of contracts •status of shipments, including pre-shipment information •status of accounts receivable and accounts payable •cashflow and bank status •Respond to ad hoc requests and assist special projects for the Management Board •Support Operations and Trade Support team where needed to ensure swift and accurate contract execution Education, knowledge and experience •Level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or related field). At least 5 years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification •A professional accounting qualification such as a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) is preferred •A minimum of 5 years’ experience in international financial controlling •Extensive knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS, GAAP), procedures and standards •Prior agri-commodity experience is a significant advantage •Strong network of trade finance and other lending institutions •Good understanding of ERP/contract management systems and the related implementation processes •Good understanding of all matters relating to the operations in trading and supply chain companies Skills •Solid understanding of accounting software principles •Computer literate with good Excel and PowerPoint skills •Able to work on modern ERP & IT systems •Good communicator •Excellent command of written and spoken English. Fluency in French would be advantageous •Team player
