Senior Backend Developer (Laravel, Node.js, WebSockets)

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Backend Developer to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance backend systems using Laravel (PHP), Node.js, and WebSocket technologies. This role involves architecting real-time applications, optimizing system performance, along with web development responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities Architect, develop, and maintain scalable backend systems using Laravel and Node.js Design and implement real-time features using WebSockets (Socket.IO, Laravel Echo, Pusher, etc.) Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs and microservices architectures Lead backend system design decisions and ensure best practices Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability Implement secure authentication and authorization systems (JWT, OAuth) Collaborate cross-functionally with frontend, DevOps, and product teams Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers Conduct code reviews and enforce coding standards Manage database architecture, performance tuning, and query optimization Oversee deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure

Required Skills & Qualifications 5+ years of backend development experience Strong expertise in PHP (Laravel framework) Advanced experience with Node.js Proven experience building real-time systems using WebSockets Deep understanding of API design, microservices, and distributed systems Strong experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases Experience with Redis, caching, and queue systems Proficiency in Git, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment workflows Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

Preferred Qualifications Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or container orchestration Knowledge of event-driven architecture and message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ) Experience with high-traffic, scalable applications Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools (ELK stack, Datadog, etc.) Exposure to frontend technologies (React, Vue.js)
