Associate Director - Enterprise SaaS

A. About the Role: Implementation & Operation of IT Systems: Lead the end-to-end implementation, operation, and optimization of IT systems for energy accounting and verification of power generator bills, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency. Project Monitoring & Execution: Monitor and manage all project activities as per the defined scope of work, ensuring on-time delivery, stakeholder coordination, and adherence to quality standards. Domain Expertise – Regulatory & Commercial: Provide comprehensive domain expertise on regulatory and commercial aspects of the Indian power sector. Ensure all system features and functionalities align with current rules, market structures, and commercial practices. Incorporate update requirements w.r.t policies changes, recent judgement/orders, regulatory guidelines, and commercial frameworks to ensure the IT system remains compliant, relevant, and effective. Energy Accounting & Billing Management: Oversee IT system support for energy accounting, generator billing, and DSM (Demand Side Management) billing processes within power distribution utilities. Advisory & Strategic Support: Offer expert advisory and consulting services to power sector stakeholders, driving improvements in energy accounting and billing through IT solutions. Coordination with key agencies such as SLDCs, STUs, RLDCs, and GRID-INDIA as and when required to ensure seamless integration and alignment of IT systems across the electricity value chain. Technical Oversight & Problem Solving: Resolve technical and operational issues in system deployment, ensuring high system availability, data accuracy, and user satisfaction.

B. Detailed expectations from the role: Support the management and effective functioning of IT systems related to power procurement, energy scheduling, and billing for power distribution companies in India. The role is expected to contribute to the smooth execution of power purchase processes, generator billing, and energy accounting, while ensuring alignment with the regulatory and commercial frameworks of the Indian power sector, including applicable policies, compliance requirements, and market mechanisms. Contribute to the implementation, monitoring, and enhancement of IT systems supporting state-level energy accounting within power distribution utilities. Assist in the management and operational support of IT systems used for Demand Side Management (DSM) billing, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with regulatory guidelines. Coordinate and work closely with key power sector entities such as State Load Dispatch Centres (SLDCs), State Transmission Utilities (STUs), Regional Load Dispatch Centres (RLDCs), and GRID-INDIA, ensuring that relevant IT systems and processes are aligned with operational and regulatory requirements. Support the continuous improvement and optimization of IT-enabled processes within the power sector ecosystem to enhance efficiency, transparency, and data-driven decision-making.

C. Required skill set: Proven experience in managing, implementing, or supporting IT systems related to power procurement, energy scheduling, and billing for power distribution companies in India. A strong understanding of power purchase processes, generator billing, and energy accounting is essential. In-depth knowledge of regulatory and commercial aspects of the Indian power sector, including policies, compliance requirements, and market mechanisms. Hands-on experience with IT systems supporting state-level energy accounting within distribution utilities. Familiarity with IT systems used for DSM (Demand Side Management) billing in distribution companies. Experience working with or understanding the IT system requirements of key power sector entities such as SLDCs (State Load Dispatch Centers), STUs (State Transmission Utilities), RLDCs (Regional Load Dispatch Centers), and GRID-INDIA.

D. Education and Experience: B.E./ BTech/ M.E./ MTech with MBA (Finance) More than 15 years’ experience in providing consultancy services and advisory assistances to power sector entities.

E. Location: Base location shall be Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
