Lead Engineer / Product Owner

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Lead Engineer / Product Owner. This role bridges the gap between business needs and technical execution, ensuring that data solutions are aligned with strategic goals and deliver measurable value.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Requirement Gathering ·

Act as the primary point of contact for business stakeholders to understand their needs, whether

they are new requirements, critical live issues, or general concerns. ·

Facilitate meetings, interviews, and feedback sessions to capture detailed business requirements and pain points. ·

Translate business stakeholders’ feedback into actionable insights and technical specifications.

Data Analytics Landscape Mapping ·

Analyze and map business requirements to the existing data analytics architecture. ·

Identify gaps, overlaps, and opportunities for optimization ·

Ensure alignment with data governance, security, and compliance standards.

Engineering Guidance & Delivery Oversight ·

Collaborate closely with data engineers to translate requirements into scalable and maintainable data solutions. ·

Provide clear implementation guidance, including data sourcing, transformation logic, etc. ·

Review and validate technical deliverables to ensure they meet business expectations and quality standards.

Issue Resolution and Bug Fixing ·

Collaborate with business stakeholders to prioritize the backlog ·

Perform comprehensive root cause analysis of new incidents ·

Lead the implementation of permanent fixes & collaborate with operations team

Required Qualifications

Professional Experience ·

10+ years of proven experience in engineering roles or product ownership within data analytics environments. ·

Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a corporate environment, managing & navigating differing expectations in priorities, timelines, etc. across different (e.g. global, regional, etc) stakeholders. ·

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in matrixed organizational structures.

Technical Skills Strong understanding of data warehousing, ETL processes, and data analytics tools Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with various types of databases. Experience in Databricks, Power BI, MS SQL Server is a plus

Soft Skills ·

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. ·

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. ·

Experience working in agile delivery models is a plus.
