Clean Electric is a Series A funded battery tech company focused on designing and manufacturing advanced li-ion batteries for EVs and energy storage applications which enable 12-min rapid charging, long life and unrivalled safety. We are pushing the boundaries of the EV industry with our Direct Contact Liquid Cooling (DCLC) thermal management, integrated cell-to-pack (CTP) architecture, and proprietary dynamic charging algorithms running on a custom-engineered in-house battery management system.

Role Description and Key Responsibilities
The role involves tasks including but not limited to -
BMS Architecture & Design: Defining, designing, and simulating analog/digital circuits for BMS hardware, including microcontrollers (MCUs), analog front-ends (AFEs), and battery protection circuits (OV, UV, OC, SC, OT).
Components Selection: MOSFET, Contactor, Relay, Driver circuit, Diode, Sensor, Bus bar, Thermistor, Fuse, LDO, SMPS, Opto coupler
Algorithm Development: Developing and optimizing embedded firmware (C/C++) for battery modeling, state-of-charge (SOC), state-of-health (SOH), and state-of-power (SOP) estimation.
System Integration & Protection: Implementing cell balancing, thermal management, and safety protocols to prevent thermal runaway and overstressing, ensuring maximum battery life and safety.
Testing & Validation: Performing hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation testing (e.g., thermal, electrical performance) to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Communication & Protocols: Designing and integrating communication interfaces like CAN, SPI, I2C, and RS-232 & 485.
Understanding of DC-DC converter & Motor control would be added advantages.
Desired Qualifications and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related fields.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in LT-SPICE/P-SPICE for simulation, PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer), and embedded software development.
Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of Lithium-ion cell chemistry, battery modeling, and thermal management.
Experience: Requires 2+ years of experience in BMS development or power electronics.
Desired Skills and Attributes
Strong understanding of circuit testing from proto design to system design.
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience with test equipment maintenance and calibration is often required.
Knowledge of battery technology and power electronics
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
