The AI Incubator is a joint initiative between
Lenz , a Silicon Valley–based innovation studio, and
BITSoM (BITS School of Management).
Lenz works at the intersection of emerging technologies, venture building, and corporate innovation. We partner with forward-looking corporations to design AI-driven ventures, explore transformation opportunities, and build scalable businesses.
The AI Incubator will be the first of its kind in India to have an exclusive focus on AI Innovation from the applications layers to models layers. The incubator has an ambitious goal of graduating 100 Global scale AI Startups in the next 3 years. This initiative is a strategic priority at the senior leadership level within BITSoM and is being developed with long-term commitment and ambition.
This role offers early-career professionals an opportunity to deeply immerse themselves in AI, venture creation, startup evaluation, and innovation system design.
Role Description
The AI Venture Associate (AI Incubator) will play a key role in building and operationalizing the ecosystem that accelerates AI-driven ventures.
This full-time position, based in India, spans the full lifecycle of activities — from market research and startup screening to incubation process design and end-to-end program execution.The Associate will also assist in developing the Lenz AI Incubator Engine — the structured frameworks, evaluation models, playbooks, and operating systems that power repeatable venture creation.
The Associate will work closely with leadership to design, operationalize, and scale the AI Incubator. This is a high-execution role involving strategy, research, systems building, and disciplined execution. Strong operational reliability and the ability to drive structured follow-through across multiple stakeholders are essential to success in this role.
This is not a purely research or strategy position. The ability to execute, run and coordinate programs and ensure flawless program delivery is mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
1. Research & Investment Analysis
Conduct research on AI sectors, emerging technologies, and market opportunities
Evaluate startup applications and prepare assessment briefs
Develop investment-style memos and opportunity analyses
Analyze business models and competitive positioning
2. Program Management & Operations
Plan and manage incubator cohorts and program milestones
Coordinate founders, mentors, faculty, and ecosystem partners
Build dashboards and performance tracking mechanisms
Ensure timely execution across deliverables
3. Ecosystem & Founder Engagement
Support founders in refining strategy and positioning
Assist in investor outreach and Demo Day preparation
Build relationships within the startup and AI ecosystem
4. Incubator Engine Development
Develop structured frameworks for sourcing and evaluating AI startups
Design playbooks, templates, and evaluation methodologies
Build research repositories, market maps, and analysis tools
Create scalable systems to institutionalize incubator processes
Eligibility & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a quantitative discipline from a leading institution
1–2 years of experience in consulting, startups, venture capital, analytics, product, or similar high-rigor environments
Demonstrated interest in AI, startups, or venture building
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills
A desire and strength in meticulous management of activities. This role would involve a lot of coordination and public outreach and interaction.
Excellent written and verbal communication
High ownership mindset and ability to work in dynamic environments
MBA is a plus

Compensation:
₹16,00,000 per annum (CTC) + Performance Bonus up to ₹2,00,000.
