Overview of the Role:

As a Test Automation Engineer specializing in Selenium and Java, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software solutions delivered to our global clients. This role involves designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts, collaborating with cross-functional agile teams, and driving best practices in software testing to help HCLTech maintain its industry leadership and commitment to excellence.

Detailed Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium and Java to validate software functionality and performance. Collaborate with product owners, developers, and QA team members to define test strategies, test plans, and acceptance criteria. Execute test cases, analyze results, and report defects with clear documentation. Troubleshoot and debug test scripts and automation frameworks, ensuring high reliability and maintainability. Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines by integrating automated tests. Participate in sprint planning and agile ceremonies, providing input on test coverage and quality risks. Promote and implement software testing best practices, tools, and methodologies across teams. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to clarify requirements, test outcomes, and ensure alignment on quality objectives.

Skill Requirements: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in test automation using Selenium and Java. Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and best practices. Hands-on experience with test planning, test case design, and test execution in agile environments. Proficient in troubleshooting and debugging testing scripts and frameworks. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within diverse, cross-functional teams. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

Other Requirements (Optional): ISTQB or equivalent testing certification. Experience with additional automation tools or frameworks (e.g., TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber). Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or GitLab CI. Exposure to cloud-based testing environments or DevOps practices.
