Position Name: Expert - Regulations Management

Department: Research and Development

Functional Area: E/T2

Location: Chakan, Pune

Years of Experience: 8-12 Years

Qualification: Diploma or B.E .: /Mechanical / Automobile

Purpose of the Position

1. Act as a SPOC for Passive safety, Active Safety related Regulatory activities and represent SAVWIPL in different technical regulatory forums in Govt. Ministry, SIAM, ARAI, iCAT etc… Lobbying with industry associates 2. Act as R-VKO team member to secure interest of VW group brands and for SAVWIPL products during regulations formulation and prepare / track the domestic forecast, technical regulatory roadmap 3. Support to ensure compliance for SAVW products and perform Impact analysis and timely communication to all the stakeholders of respective brands for Highly Automated Autonomous Driving & Traffic Law + Behavioural Law requirements 4. Handle audits / queries from the brands headquarters related to provision of Importer agreement requirements 5. Update regulatory information on system and represent in internal technical forums timely 6. Support Technical expert (VEX) for upcoming regulation interpretation, process formation & implementation

Authority

1. Take appropriate actions with internal CFT, headquarters and external agencies (like test authorities, suppliers, etc.) to monitor the Regulatory requirements and provide regulatory clarifications, interpretation and support. 2. Formulate SAVWIPL position in consultation with headquarter and represent strongly in all forums working on Passive Safety and Active Safety related Technical Regulations in India (like Ministry, SIAM, ARAI, etc.) 3. Ensure data management and information exchange via email, GETEX etc. 4. Responsible to maintain and submission of technical data of SAVWIPL products to authority to secure VW group brands interest during formulation of new regulations with Govt. of India and other bodies.

Skills Required

- Technical knowledge of vehicle and vehicle aggregates & its functioning - Knowledge & Hands on experience towards vehicle testing, component testing, certification, regulations - Knowledge of functioning of International regulations and working forums like UN ECE, WP.29, GTR etc. involved in Automotive Regulation formulation and harmonization - Expertise with national & international regulations, In depth knowledge of regulatory framework in India and its functioning and regulations formulation processes - Self-starting, Self & Time management ,self-motivation, working with little guidance with good analytical skills

Responsibilities and Tasks

- Represent SAVWIPL and regularly attend various technical regulatory committees on Traffic Law Behavioural Law, Highly Automated Autonomous Driving, Vehicle Communication, etc…automotive regulations (Ministry, SIAM, AISC, CMVR-TSC, panel meetings etc.) and also ensure presence in vehicle registration process related forums e.g. VAHAN - In-depth study of regulations during formulations, tracking of international regulations/forums (UN-R, UN-ECE, GTR’s, FMVSS, GRB etc…) to take reference for India regulations, analyze impacts on current and future SAVWIPL models and regular communication to all stake holders in India and VW group brand headquarter regulations (ETB) colleagues. - As R-VKO team member to maintain, monitor and generate regulation information document/report in MFV format and shared with K-VKO, VKO and stored on VW DMS, monitor internal system (GETEX, JIRA, etc..) co-ordinate with other development and purchase department and to secure VW group brands interest for SAVWIPL models - Study and prepare comparison between AIS,ECE/EEC and other international regulations applicable for Passive safety, Active Safety, Bharat NCAP, Noise, Whole Vehicle CoP, etc… - Prepare justifications and interpretations of standards and discuss with technical experts colleagues and brand headquarter colleagues - Monitor development of responsible cluster regulations and dissemination same to all responsible departments from time to time, co-ordinate with headquarter colleagues for export regulations queries - Develop necessary contacts with SIAM, SIAM Members, Technical Service, European counterparts for regular exchange of regulatory information - Represent E/T dept. in FMK Forum & analyze impact of proposal, study from future regulations point of view, co-ordinate with headquarter colleagues for export homologation queries and submit E/T Position form regulations prospective . - Ensure and establishment of process for ELV and material conformity regulation ,analyze impact on current and future SAVWIPL models and regular communication to stakeholders - Support to maintain, monitor and generate report from internal systems IMDS,TIREX,TEVON,etc.
